8th International Fair of Municipal and Road Infrastructure |
Over 3800 people attended the 8th International Trade Fair of Municipal and Road Infrastructure INFRASTRUCTURE 2010. The Fair took place in Warsaw on 13th-15th October in the MT Polska centre at Marsa 56c st. 130 companies from Poland and from abroad presented their products and services for the construction and modernization of municipal and road infrastructure. Industry professionals shared their expertise at a variety of specialised conferences and seminars that accompanied the Fair. The Polish Conference of Road Infrastructure Safety Management, organised by the National Road Safety Council and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) was held for the first time as well as the 1st National Forum POOL TECH. The INFRASTRUCTURE 2010 fair took place under the auspices of the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr Cezary Grabarczyk and the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz.
The Road Infrastructure Safety Management conference drew a lot of attention from the Fair’s participants and was attended by over 180 persons. Mr Radosław Stępień, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, presented the issues of the government’s policy regarding road traffic safety. The Deputy Minister stressed that the Road Traffic Safety is to be considered as an investment.
The Deputy General Director of GDDKiA, Mr Andrzej Maciejewski, discussed the topic of safety management on national roads. He pointed out to the necessary action in terms of engineering, speed surveillance, emergency medical services and communication as the means of building the road traffic safety awareness.
Over 50 persons participated in the 1st National Forum POOL TECH dedicated to the design, construction and management of swimming pools, during which the issues of attracting, carrying out and accounting for investments co-financed by the UE.
The press breakfast organised by the „Pośrednik Budowlany" magazine and by MT Targi met with a very positive response from the industry representatives. It gathered managers of companies from the heavy equipment sector. The meeting was mainly dedicated to current trends and perspectives for growth on the market.
At the INFRASTRUCTURE 2010 exhibitors showcased construction vehicles and equipment, aggregates and other materials, suggestions for equipping public utility facilities as well as their offer as contractors and for other services. Companies dealing with various aspects of road traffic safety and management also had their stands at the fair. Visitors had the opportunity to discover the newest solutions employed around the world in municipal and road infrastructure and to learn about the best examples of project implementation in Poland. Among the solutions showcased at the stands were the biggest drum roller in the world, a new device for issuing parking tickets, an optical fibre speed limit enforcement system, guardrails and select civil engineering designs.
Contest for the award by the Minister of Infrastructure
From among various products and services presented at the INFRASTRUCTURE 2010 fair, the jury of the Minister’s contest chose those that stood out above others due to being especially modern, functional, efficient and environmentally friendly. 23 companies participated in the contest.
In the category of Infrastructure Projects the award was given to:
- Budimex S.A., for finishing the construction of the Stryszek-Białe Błota section of the S5/S10 expressways ahead of schedule.
At the same time, honourable mentions were awarded to:
- Bilfinger Berger Budownictwo S.A., for constructing the Southern Bypass of Kędzierzyn-Koźle and the bridge with the longest span over the Oder River, and to
- Eurovia Polska S.A., for constructing the 2nd section of the S5 Gniezno-Poznań expressway (Kleszczewo junction), which is essential to the functioning of the expressways network.
In the category of Road Traffic Safety the award was given to:
- Centrum Bezpieczeństwa Ruchu Drogowego, for M5, a modern, optical fibre-based speed limit enforcement system.
In the construction machinery and equipment the award went to:
- Hermann Kirchner Polska Sp. z o.o. for a device for laying compact asphalt, a modern technology implemented in Poland.
In the category of Road Construction Materials and Raw Materials the award was given to:
- Utex-Centrum Sp. z o.o. for developing and implementing the Tefra 10-15 road binder for soil improvement and ground moisture absorption.
In the category of Technologies and Services the award was given to the company:
- ZBM Inwestor Zastępczy Sp. z o.o., for comprehensive and modern services in road construction management and supervision.
In the last category, Road Furniture and Equipment for Public Utility Facilities, the award was given to the company:
- Alumast S.A. - for a set of modern lighting columns with equipment.
